Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Some of the deepest battles young people face are the ones no one else can see.
For "Sally", that battle was comparison.
She had spent years believing the voices around her more than the voice of God. Every compliment someone else received felt like evidence that she wasn't enough. Every comparison convinced her she was falling behind. Slowly, those lies shaped the way she saw herself.
"I always felt like there was someone better than me," she shared. "The more I compared myself, the less I valued who I was."
When Sally joined one of our event dedicated for women, she wasn't expecting God to meet her through something as ordinary as a candle-making activity.
As the girls finished decorating their candles, they placed them together on the table. Every candle looked different. Some were colorful, others simple. Some were carefully designed, others beautifully imperfect.
Yet every single one reflected the creativity of the one who made it.
As Sally looked across the table, the Holy Spirit began speaking to her heart.
In that quiet moment, God gently revealed what years of comparison had hidden from her.
Just as no two candles were alike, no two lives are meant to be.
She realized she had spent so much energy wishing she looked like someone else, gifted like someone else, or lived like someone else, that she had overlooked the beautiful way God had created her. She wasn't an accident to be fixed or a copy waiting to become someone else. She was His workmanship, intentionally created, deeply loved, and uniquely designed for His purposes.
The activity itself didn't change her life.
The God who met her in that moment did.
For the first time, Sally wasn't simply hearing that she was valuable—she believed it.
Not because of her achievements.
Not because she finally measured up.
But because her identity rests in Christ, not in comparison.
Before leaving the event, she decided to take her candle home and place it where she would see it every day.
Today, that candle serves as more than a decoration. It is a testimony.
Whenever old thoughts of comparison begin to return, it reminds her of the truth God planted in her heart that day: she doesn't have to become someone else to be loved by Him. She already belongs to Him.
What once felt like an ordinary craft has become a daily reminder of extraordinary grace.
Stories like Sally's remind us why this ministry exists.
We believe transformation happens when people encounter Jesus. That's why every gathering is intentionally designed to create space for the Holy Spirit to move. Whether through worship, honest conversations, shared laughter, or a simple creative activity, God meets young people where they are. He speaks to wounds that have been hidden for years, replaces lies with His truth, and draws hearts closer to Himself.
